Antibody

An organism's immune system enables the organism to recognize and reject most substances that are foreign to itself.  Normal animals, including man, produce molecules known as antibodies, which are released into the blood stream and carried by the plasma.  Antibodies are responsible for the destruction of foreign or invading substances that enter the organism.  Any foreign substance that enters the body will result in the production and release of an antibody that is specific for that particular foreign substance.
